For Referrers
From local GP to self-paying patient, here's the information you need.
General Practitioners
GPs are welcome to refer patients with suspected conditions to the practice.
Conditions suitable to refer - patients with conditions of the upper gastrointestinal tract such as hiatus hernia and reflux, gallstones or problems with the gall bladder plus abdominal hernias requiring laparoscopic surgery. Nick also undertakes general surgical procedures including lipoma, haemorrhoids and ingrowing toenails.
Both upper GI endoscopy + colonoscopy for conditions of the gastrointestinal tract are routinely undertaken along with weight loss surgery with laparoscopic insertion of the Swedish adjustable gastric band. In the first instance please contact his office.
NHS
Nick holds out-patient clinics for the NHS on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month at the Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury. He carries out his day case NHS surgery and endoscopies at the hospital as well. If surgery requires an overnight stay these are performed at Maidstone Hospital.
Patients exercising choice - if you're an NHS patient wishing to exercise your right to choose, please contact Nick's Secretary, Sue Kendrick at the new Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury on 01892 635 512.
Insurers
The practice accepts several means of privately insured reimbursement.
PMI providers accepted.
BUPA medical insurance and other private policies are accepted subject to the details of each policy.
Self-pay
Many patients prefer to pay directly. The Spire Tunbridge Wells Hospital are happy to provide an Inclusive Care Package price for the procedures Nick carries out. This is inclusive of hospital, surgeon and anaesthetist costs and also includes the cost of a follow-up consultation with Nick. Nick's fees are available on request and are competitive with other healthcare providers.
Weight loss procedures such as gastric banding are not covered by private medical insurance and are currently not available locally on the NHS.
